Mr. O’Brien has a B.A. in Economics from Hobart College and an M.B.A. from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.Mr. O’Brien has spent 25 years making private equity investments. He was part of the initial team at The Prudential Insurance Company of America that established and grew a private equity portfolio for Prudential consisting of limited partnership and direct investments. Commitments made by the team included Welsh Carson Anderson & Stowe, Bain Capital, TA Associates, Kleiner Perkins and Sequoia. Direct investments were made alongside various firms including Kohlberg & Co., Madison Dearborn and Welsh Carson. The team later spun out of Prudential and formed Cornerstone Equity Investors, LLC, a small cap buyout firm. Mr. O’Brien co-founded Cornerstone and led a number of the firm’s most successful investments. He has served on the board of directors of numerous private companies and currently serves on the board of Neptco Holdings, Inc., a manufacturer of advanced coating materials and laminates.Dana O’Brien joined Paul Capital in April 2007. He leads the small cap buyout fund investment and co-investment strategy for the Fund of Funds team.
