Bruce MacDonald

Bruce MacDonald came to Martin Currie in 2007 as a sector manager for infrastructure， having worked as an equity analyst since 1993. He spent the majority of the intervening years at Deutsche Bank， where he was latterly a managing director and head of the global telecoms equipment team. By the time he left Deutsche， Bruce had headed four different sector teams that were ranked in the top three by the Institutional Investor survey. Earlier， he was a defence and aerospace analyst with Smith New Court. Bruce has had a varied career； from 1990 to 1993 he was a principal engineer at Westland Helicopters， during which time he also studied part-time for an MBA. While completing an MSc in aerospace engineering at Princeton， he was awarded a NASA scholarship to study a PhD， but instead took up the job at Westland. Bruce began his working life as a sub-lieutenant in the Royal Navy.
