David Shearer

David Shearer became a non-executive director of Martin Currie in 2008 and chairs the company’s audit committee. He is chairman of Crest Nicholson， the deputy chairman of Aberdeen New Dawn Investment Trust and a senior independent director of Renold， STV Group and Superglass Holdings. David is also a director of Mithras Investment Trust and Scottish Financial Enterprise. Until early 2007， he was a non-executive director of HBOS. From 1999 to 2003， David was the senior partner for Scotland and Northern Ireland and a UK executive board member of Deloitte & Touche. Before this， he was global director of corporate finance for Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu， with responsibility for the strategic development of corporate finance in Europe， the Americas and the Asia Pacific region. David is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.
