At ZenStone RC， Farris overseas deal sourcing， due diligence， deal terms and structures， partnership development， asset management， tax planning， and financial planning and analysis. Farris is also actively involved in the complex value-added projects.
Prior to turning to the private equity industry， Farris lead academic research and built his reputation in developing the most sophisticated fast computing algorithms for solving the largest multi-physics problems. After Ph.D. graduation， he started his career as Senior Physics Scientist at Applied Materials， Inc.， leading strategic projects on critical etching and cleaning processes to develop the next generation equipment of the semiconductor industry， where he contributed to both software and hardware innovations to help executives bring Atomic Precision Etching technology from concept to product.
He holds Ph.D. from University of Texas at Austin， and Bachelor and Master Degrees from Harbin Institute of Technology， China， all in Electrical Engineering. He published 30+ academic articles and filed 6 technology patents on computational algorithms， high performance computing， electromagnetic engineering， and plasma physics.
