Mr Tan is a Managing Director of EMP-Daiwa Capital Asia. Prior to joining EMP-Daiwa Capital Asia， Mr Tan was as a Director with Gartner Inc’s Asia consulting practice， where he was responsible for structuring global and regional outsourcing transactions.
Mr Tan has held various positions in the consulting and finance industry in Europe and Asia Pacific， advising clients on technology and financial services industry acquisitions， global outsourcing transactions， business and operational strategies. He has led teams in the various stages of the acquisition and divestment process， as well as， in the development and execution of business， operational and technology strategies. To date， Mr Tan has advised on and negotiated transactions with a cumulative value of over US$3.5 billion. Mr Tan started his career with Paribas in London as an analyst in an advisory team specializing in fixed income derivatives. From 2000 to 2007， Mr Tan led projects and transactions in India， Korea， Taiwan， China， Hong Kong， Singapore， Malaysia， Australia， the United Kingdom and the United States of America.
Mr Tan has a BA in Economics and History from Monash University， a LLB （Hons） from the University Buckingham and a Master of Laws in Banking and Finance from King’s College London and the London School of Economics and Political Science. He is fluent in English and Mandarin.
